Job Type: Full-time, Permanent – 08:00 – 17:30 Monday to Friday

Salary: Starting at £23,800 + paid overtime (negotiable depending on experience)

ACS are currently looking for a Site Technician to join our friendly, expanding company. Whilst this role is predominantly site based, some testing will be carried out in our UKAS accredited Physical Properties laboratory. This position is based at our Head Office at Poole, Dorset.

The ideal candidate will be confident, outgoing and enthusiastic. They will have excellent communication skills and will be able to work alone and as part of a small team, liaising with ACS staff, clients and subcontractors confidently and professionally.

A full driving licence is required for this role. This position may also include weekend work and night work where required.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out sampling and testing on various construction materials in line with British and European standards both on site and in the laboratory;
  • Traveling to and from different sites across Southern England;
  • Maintaining strict Quality and Health and Safety requirements;
  • Liaising with clients, sub-contractors (where appropriate) and other ACS staff;
  • Undertaking various in situ tests and present findings in a professional manner;
  • Ensuring equipment and vehicle is well maintained, calibrated and in good working order.

Job Requirements:

  • Full driving licence;
  • Computer literate to facilitate the input of data to our system via tablet or PC;
  • Minimum GCSE English and Maths or similar related qualifications;
  • Previous experience in a similar role (whether in a construction related or academic environment) is advantageous but not essential;
  • A valid CSCS card is advantageous for this role, but full training will be provided.
